While I was out shopping today with the kids.....
by ISP in.......i ventured into a toy shop.
it was showing 'bugs life' on some screens dotted about the place.
it was the end of the flick....and the credits rolled up to reveal some outakes!!!..

The Lure Of God
by radar inin just a few years all of us here will be forgotten, we will be dead and buried.
all our dealings will mean nothing.. ok there may be a few written works flying around for awhile, that some us have taken part in, and maybe a few of us may have been able to effect some changes for the good of some.yet all this can and probably will be reversed in a blink of an eye.some new cult or ruler will arise and start the whole cycle of pain over again.. the earth anyway, as a limited lifespan.
if mankind does not destroy itself, either our sun or some comet will.. so everything will end one day, as if no life ever existed here on earth, no rememberance, no purpose, no nothing.. so does it pay to dwell on the "big picture" of life?.

by Englishman inso many tragic stories here of lost family and friends due to the shunning policy of the wtbts.. time and again we hear tales from newly df'd and da'd persons.
how, maybe when out shopping, they have encountered an active jw who, before shunning them, has whispered hoarsely:"you knew the score when you did what you did...".

My mom got involved while I was a young kid, soon after that dad left, so my angry mom was the voice of jehovah. Next time I'll choose my parents more carefully.
Having said that, I think it is generally true that in life we have to make decisions on the basis of incomplete information AND we are 100% responsible for the decisions we make.
At the time I decided to leave I felt that at least from now on I would be making MY mistakes, not someone else's.

...what is beginning to dawn on me is that we are on the threshold of another Communist witch hunt. Cold war hysteria in the early 50s led to gross injustices against ordinary Americans simply of their political beliefs (even if those beliefs had long since been abandoned). Eventually, even a well-placed rumor (though false) could ruin a person's reputation and career.
So this is simply hysteria?
and dead civilian husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters are simply the expression of political beliefs?
I think you are overlooking some very important details:
0. The "cold war" was primarily ideolgical - a battle of IDEAS.
1. More than 6,000 American civilians have been subjected to the ACT of murder.
2. This is not a COLD WAR. Parts of the rubble of the World Trade Center are still far beyond RED HOT (approx. 600 degrees Fahrenheit). America has pretended this was a cold war for more than a decade, and the body count has only escalated. Now, because punishment for earlier acts of terrorism was not swift and sure, the enemy has brought their terrorism to our shores.
3. We are not talking about a Jdub "Judicial Committee" circus run by untrained volunteers with a mean streak. It is pretty easy to determine if a person is a citizen of another country. If they are a citizen of an Islamic nation, SEND THEM HOME.
If they are a citizen of this country, having been naturalized or born here, they would not have to leave.
If a citizen of this country is guilty of aiding or abetting a terrorist act, they should be charged with treason and if they are found guilty they should be subject to public hanging.

these documents give us a good insight into the minds of religious fanatics and their thinking.
all of you other true believers, christians and otherwise, can learn a lot of true faith from those documents.
